Cadillac is expanding its electric vehicle portfolio while simultaneously affirming its commitment to performance cars, particularly those within its V-Series sub-brand.
On Tuesday, Cadillac announced that the first electric V-Series model will be the Lyriq-V, set to debut as a 2026 model next year.
The company has shared a couple of images of the 2026 Lyriq-V and indicated that additional details will be revealed early in the coming year.
The images showcase what looks like a standard Lyriq midsize crossover, but distinct design elements differentiate this high-performance version from its regular counterpart. The grille and front fascia boast unique styling, incorporating some mesh elements to obscure the intakes.

The specific powertrain for the Lyriq-V remains unknown. The 2025 Lyriq, equipped with a standard 102-kwh battery, achieves up to 500 hp through its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. Nevertheless, several other electric vehicles from General Motors utilizing the same Ultium platform and battery technology found in the Lyriq offer significantly higher horsepower ratings.
Currently, Cadillac’s most powerful V-Series model is the CT5-V Blackwing, which delivers 668 hp from its supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine. It is plausible that the Lyriq-V could match or even exceed that power output.
