Hyundai has once again been observed assessing its revamped Palisade, and the most recent test model has shed the bulky coverings seen previously, unveiling a noticeable shift from the looks of the current Palisade.
The current Palisade represents the maiden generation of the three-row midsize SUV. It entered the U.S. market for the 2020 model year and was refreshed for 2023. This impending generation of Palisade is slated for the 2026 model year, indicating a probable launch in 2025.
The Palisade is the related model of the Kia Telluride, therefore an updated iteration of the Kia is expected to arrive approximately concurrently with the Hyundai.
The latest test model showcases a comparable angular design to the modern Hyundai Santa Fe unveiled for 2024, and there are certainly hints of Land Rover influence as well. This shift should give the new Palisade a sturdier appearance that will likely be accentuated further if there is a recurrence of the existing Palisade’s XRT trim level. The front grille also seems to be undergoing an expansion with the new generation.

Whispers of a new platform seem to be validated by the elongated front section of the test model in comparison to the current Palisade. This adjustment has enabled the designers to advance the front axle, subsequently stretching the wheelbase.
Hyundai has not disclosed any specifics regarding its future strategies for the Palisade, although the same rumors suggest that Hyundai could present the new generation with the option of an electric power unit utilizing a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder as its petrol component or a turbo-4 to replace the existing standalone 3.8-liter V-6.
All current Palisades are powered by a 3.8-liter V-6 generating 291 hp. The powerplant is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and has the capability to propel either the front wheels or all four wheels.
The Palisade is among Hyundai’s top-selling models in the U.S. The SUV has averaged over 80,000 units annually since its introduction, with 2023’s sales figure of 89,509 units being a record high. The redesign should help maintain the sales momentum as the Palisade contends with newer rivals, including certain electric vehicle entries. Hyundai is also adding a electric-powered nine-seat Ioniq SUV for the 2025 model year. Named the Ioniq 9 (instead of the formerly speculated Ioniq 7 moniker), it is expected to be unveiled later this year.
