    Mclaren has a rich history of spearheading innovation in the realm of high-performance vehicles. Ever since the inception of McLaren Automotive in 2010, they have consistently unveiled fresh sports models, high-performance models, or top-tier models annually without falter. Paving the way as the initial open-roof hybrid from the Woking UK base, the 2025 Artura Spider continues this legacy. While released in 2025, it assumes the 2024 spot in the exclusive McLaren supercar roster.

    Setting itself apart from antecedents like the 12C, 570S, 650S, 720S, and 750S, the Artura Spider emerges as the pioneer among them with fewer than 8 cylinders. Crafted in collaboration with McLaren Racing’s Formula One sector, its powerplant showcases one of the most cutting-edge V6 engines worldwide. Bolstering its performance is the inclusion of a hybrid assist motor dubbed the Axial Flux E-Motor System, furnishing instantaneous torque and supplemental power across the RPM range while substituting the traditional reverse gear.

    Not solely relying on a state-of-the-art powertrain, the Artura Spider incorporates various strides in systems technology and composite materials. A plethora of these advancements has been transmitted to the Coupe variant, essentially transforming the 2024+ Artura Coupe into a reformed iteration of the original 2022 model. Introducing the McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) stands as a pivotal stride, culminating in both the Artura Spider and Coupe emerging as among the lightest full Sport Series models ever crafted at the McLaren Technology Center (MTC). Tipping the scales at a mere 1,560 kg (3,439 lbs), the Spider boasts exceptional lightness.

    Despite the integration of additional carbon tub stiffening and systems to retract the forceful hardtop, the Spider only marginally weighs 62 kg (137 lbs) more than its Coupe counterpart. To offer context, this positions the Artura Spider a mere 70 kg (154 lbs) heavier than McLaren’s precedent-setting performance hybrid, the P1 Hypercar. Brandishing two-thirds of the power of the P1, the Spider distinguishes itself as McLaren’s nimblest convertible hitherto and stands as one of the quickest, boasting a 0 to 60 acceleration time of a mere 3.0 seconds.

    Even though regarded as a foundational model in McLaren’s lineup, the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider is a high-octane supercar. The masterminds at the McLaren Technology Centre collaborated with the McLaren Racing Formula One team to forge a pioneering engine for the Artura Coupe, now meticulously fine-tuned for the Artura Spider. This exceptional V6 engine, christened the M630 twin-turbocharged 120-degree V6, represents a breakthrough in any open-top supercar globally. For the Spider variant, McLaren has further enhanced the engine.

    Boasting 597 HP at 7,500 RPM and 431 lbs-ft of torque at 2,250 RPM, the powertrain reflects a 20 HP enhancement over the Coupe’s V6 powerplant. This augmented power stems largely from the engine’s entirely aluminum build and “hot-vee” turbocharger blueprint. Deviating from the conventional intake and exhaust port configuration, the “hot-vee” design funnels compressed air into the engine’s flanks and exhaust gases into the V of the engine banks. Deploying this layout expedites the turbochargers’ response time, leading to heightened throttle responsiveness.Management (TC) configurations in the Artura Spider. ESC configurations consist of On, Dynamic, and Off, while TC configurations provide Handling and Powertrain modes, giving drivers greater versatility in controlling traction under varying driving conditions. Abundant power is moderated or managed during a high-speed sprint to avoid wheel spinning entirely.

    Brakes & Tires

    The Artura Spider features impressive brakes to complement its potent performance. With 390mm front and 380mm rear carbon ceramic discs operated by 6 piston calipers at the front and 4 piston calipers at the rear, alongside an electronically controlled vacuum-type brake booster, this supercar can halt from 200 KPH to a complete stop in just 124 meters. This exceptional braking prowess rivals that of a race car, setting a new benchmark for braking distance in 2024 supercar Spiders. Notably, despite being a hybrid, the Artura Spider exclusively relies on traditional pad-to-disc braking and does not utilize regenerative braking technology.

    Teamed up with Pirelli, the Artura Spider showcases custom-designed P-ZERO MC-C tires tailored for optimum road performance. These tires, measuring 235/35Z R19 at the front and 295/35Z R20 at the rear, belong to the Pirelli P-ZERO Cyber Tire family, resembling road-approved semi-slick tires. Acknowledged for their outstanding water dispersion capabilities, these tires deliver superior traction in diverse weather conditions.

    The factory also offers two optional tire variations. The Pirelli P-ZERO Corsa tire features a softer compound perfect for maximizing grip on track surfaces while remaining suitable for dry road conditions. Alternatively, the Pirelli P-ZERO Winter tire flaunts a distinct tread pattern and siping for enhanced traction on icy or snow-covered roads.

    Design, Styling & Interior

    In line with Spider tradition, the Artura Spider incorporates two flying buttresses positioned behind each seat to improve airflow over the engine cover louvres, aiding in heat dissipation before flowing over the car’s rear. Additionally, the aerodynamic “speed bumps” behind the seats enhance the vehicle’s stability and minimize air disturbance within the cabin.

    The car’s interior encapsulates the McLaren identity, showcasing a simplistic design with an alcantara-clad steering wheel and a user-friendly TFT screen for essential functions. The McLaren Infotainment System 2 (MIS-II) screen at the console center grants access to various car configurations and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The cabin is clutter-free, featuring only essential controls such as a driving mode knob and other necessary buttons, accentuating simplicity and a focus on the McLaren driving experience.

    The 2025 McLaren Artura Spider boasts a timeless McLaren-style sleek design with a longer and lower profile compared to prior models. It displays signature curved shapes and diverse airflow elements on the exterior to maximize performance.

    This model offers an extensive array of paint choices, including elite, standard, and bespoke colors to select from. Owners can even request a color match to a sample they provide to the McLaren team.

    Regarding pricing, the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider carries an MSRP of £221,500, around $284,655. For an additional $6,500, buyers can personalize the interior with either TechLux for a luxury and technology focus or Vision for advanced materials and a contemporary aesthetic. The 2025 McLaren Artura Spider comes with a standard five-year unlimited mileage warranty, a six-year 75,000 KM/45000-mile battery warranty, and a ten-year anti-perforation warranty, all of which are extendable. Additionally, it includes a three-year service plan and a five-year roadside assistance package.
