Rumors from Autocar suggest that Aston Martin is exploring the idea of a robust off-road vehicle similar to the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Land Rover Defender.
Reports indicate that Aston Martin is reviewing design concepts for a potential new SUV, which would be the company’s second following the DBX. The company is contemplating a production run of approximately 2,500 units, making this SUV more exclusive than the DBX, which has higher sales volumes for Aston Martin, with over 3,000 units sold annually.

Should this second SUV come to fruition, it is expected to have a distinct character. Referred to as “Project Rambo,” inspired by the Lamborghini LM002 nickname, the new Aston Martin SUV would likely combine formidable off-road capabilities with impressive acceleration.
Autocar suggests that Project Rambo may not have its own platform, potentially sharing the DBX platform. This would open up the possibility of utilizing the same Mercedes-AMG twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine found in the DBX and AMG G 63 models, which, when combined with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, produces 577 horsepower and enables the G 63 to go from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds.
2025 Aston Martin DBX
Aston Martin has a number of new models on the horizon, including a V-12-powered successor to the DBS and the mid-engine Valhalla, which will feature the same AMG twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine but in a plug-in hybrid setup.
Furthermore, in 2026, the company is planning to introduce its first electric vehicle. The launch was delayed by a year due to perceived lower demand for electric cars. With four electric vehicles and a modular EV platform in development, the potential shift in demand could lead Aston Martin to focus more on combustion models such as this off-road SUV.
