Audi’s adaptable app-based car rental service, Audi On Demand, is set to conclude its operations.
The automaker has indicated on its service website that the last day to reserve a vehicle will be September 30, 2024.
The service was introduced in the U.S. in 2015 and subsequently merged with the independent car rental company Silvercar, which Audi acquired in 2017.
This service enables customers to choose from a selection of Audi models available at participating dealerships, with rental periods ranging from a single day up to a maximum of 28 days.

Currently, a search through the service shows that only Q5, Q7, and A5 Sportback models are available. For instance, the A5 Sportback is quoted at a daily rate of $95 and a weekly rate of $665, not including taxes and fees.
There are certain restrictions, including specific locations and mileage limits. However, Audi also presents a premium option that includes unlimited mileage, along with additional services like a concierge that offers vehicle drop-off and pick-up.
Audi previously operated a subscription model called Audi Select, allowing access to various Audi vehicles for a fixed monthly fee. This program was only available on a trial basis and was discontinued in 2021.
Audi is not alone in discontinuing its vehicle rental and subscription services; in August, Volvo also ceased its Care by Volvo subscription program, which had been active in the U.S. since 2017.
