BMW plans to sell a unique edition of its revamped 2025 M5 at the upcoming 2024 Monterey Car Week to support charitable causes.
The recently unveiled M5 is scheduled to be delivered to U.S. customers in the last quarter of the year, with the custom version being the first of its kind in the nation.
Formally called the 2025 BMW M5 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance #1/1, it pays homage to the traditional Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, a key event during Monterey Car Week.
Distinctive features of this model include a unique paint job, trim color, wheels, and interior accents that emphasize the essence of the Pebble Beach Concours. Its color is BMW’s Exclusive Frozen Orange metallic shade, which is no longer in production at the Dingolfing plant in Germany where the M5 is assembled.
BMW stated that the customized features add around $57,000 to the overall cost.
The auction of this vehicle will be handled by Gooding & Company on Aug. 16. BMW has committed to contribute all the profits exceeding the car’s Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price to the official foundation of the Pebble Beach Concours.
This year’s Monterey Car Week will commence on Aug. 9 and conclude with the Pebble Beach Concours on Aug. 18.
The latest M5 has a starting price of $120,675 in the U.S., including a destination fee of $1,175. It is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system similar to the one found in BMW’s XM SUV, comprising of a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine paired with an electric motor integrated into the transmission. It delivers a total power output of 717 hp, enabling a 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.4 seconds.
