Ferrari and McLaren are highly respected for their advanced engineering and exceptional track record. These auto manufacturers are continually pushing the limits of automotive technology. A head-to-head comparison by CAR magazine on YouTube pits the Ferrari 296 GTB against the McLaren 750S, both striving for supremacy in the fiercely competitive supercar market.
On paper, the Ferrari 296 GTB flaunts an impressive 819 horsepower churned out by its cutting-edge 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 plug-in hybrid powertrain. On the other hand, the McLaren 750S produces 740 horsepower with its conventional 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 powerplant. Despite the power differential, the McLaren remains a strong contender thanks to its reduced weight, tipping the scales at almost 200 kilos lighter than the Ferrari.
So, how do these statistics translate into actual performance? Ben Barry from CAR magazine takes a test drive in both these supercars to evaluate their speed, performance, handling, and pricing, aiming to establish the superior option between the two.
