Colored in the rare Blu Le Mans hue, this particular model showcases a distinct door plaque bearing the words “Donald Trump 1997 Diablo.” Only a total of 132 Diablo VT’s were manufactured during the years spanning from 1997 to 1999.
In the year 2002, Trump relinquished ownership of the Diablo VT, which had covered around 15,000 miles, signifying that it was consistently utilized during his possession.
As the auctioneer’s hammer came down, the final price achieved, prior to additional charges, stood at $1.1 million USD, prompting the crowd in attendance to erupt in cheers as the bid surpassed the $1 million mark.
The previous highest-priced Diablo to be auctioned was back in May 2017, for a 1994 Diablo SE30 which was acquired for $396,915 through RM Sotheby’s.
