JLR has announced a recall for thousands of Range Rover SUVs manufactured in the last decade due to a problem with the front suspension.
This recall pertains to specific Range Rovers from the 2014-2016 model years, with 16,759 units affected in the United States.
As detailed in the recall notice released by the NHTSA on November 7 (recall campaign number 24V840000), the upper knuckle joint in the front suspension of the impacted vehicles has the potential to crack. This defect could lead to the suspension arm becoming detached, possibly resulting in a loss of control over the vehicle.
JLR has stated that it is not aware of any incidents or injuries related to this issue.
The resolution involves having a dealer inspect the front suspension and, if necessary, either install a retaining bracket or replace the knuckle. This service will be offered at no cost to the vehicle owners.
Notifications will be mailed to owners starting January 3, 2025, instructing them to take their vehicles to a JLR service center. For additional information, JLR can be contacted at 1-800-637-6837 (mention recall number N759) or visit JLR’s recall page.
