Lamborghini has provided an Urus Performante to the Italian police department. The vehicle will be incorporated into the squad of highway police alongside the Huracan LP610-4 in the year 2024, and it will be utilized for specialized tasks, including the swift transportation of organs and plasma for medical necessities.
The Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, expressed, “We are delighted to continue our long-standing partnership with the Italian State Police for the past two decades. The Urus Performante exhibits the iconic blue and white design of the Italian State Police, adorned with tricolor bands on the sides and in the seat belts. Police emblems have been affixed to the doors using reflective film, and it houses a light bar featuring 360° blue LED lights on the rooftop, in addition to a dual-tone electric siren.
The interior has been specifically tailored with various components that are vital for public safety services, encompassing an armored storage unit for weapons, a retractable message panel, and a unique compartment in the rear for storing operational gear and a defibrillator for immediate medical assistance. Furthermore, a portable refrigerator for transporting organs is equipped, alongside a screen and data recorder for continuous monitoring of the internal temperature.
The Urus is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 657 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. Achieving 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, it has a maximum speed of 190 mph.
