Ford is providing drivers of the 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT with a slight increase in performance through a wireless update.
By utilizing the FordPass application and paying a one-time price of $995, a Performance Enhancement can be implemented which reduces the time to reach 0-60 mph by a few fractions of a second, achieving 3.3 seconds, faster than both a Tesla Model Y in Performance mode or an electric Porsche Macan 4, as mentioned by Ford. The quarter-mile elapsed time is 11.8 seconds at 114 mph.
The peak power remains steady at 480 hp for the dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, however, the torque receives a boost of 100 lb-ft to 700 lb-ft, aligning with the rating of the off-road-capable Mustang Mach-E Rally introduced in 2024.
Ford attributes this additional performance to a newly developed rear motor integrated into the 2024 model, alongside innovative thermal management and electric motor control algorithms.
