The global recognition of the Dubai law enforcement’s high-speed supercars and hypercars is well-known. A recent inclusion is the Lamborghini Urus Performante, which was acquired from the local Lamborghini Dubai showroom towards the end of 2023 during Sant’Agata’s factory 60th anniversary celebration. An intriguing feature is the vehicle’s license plate that bears the number ’60’, commemorating this special occasion.
During the Dubai Airshow 2023 ceremony, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, the acting commander-in-chief of the Dubai Law Enforcement, was presented with the keys to the Lamborghini Urus Performante by Paolo Sartori, the Regional Chief of Automobili Lamborghini for the Middle East and Africa. Sartori shared his enthusiasm for the ongoing partnership with the Dubai Law Enforcement and confirmed that the new Urus Performante would be utilized for various official duties to elevate the city’s security and safety standards, demonstrating the brand’s significant presence in the UAE.
The upgraded Lamborghini Urus Performante represents an enhanced variant of the original Urus model. While the Urus S is characterized by a mid-life refresh, the Urus Performante is designed for a distinct market segment. It is furnished with a twin-turbo V8 engine, akin to the Urus and Urus S. In the Performante version, the power output impressively stands at 666 CV, with a peak torque of 850 Nm at engine speeds ranging from 2,300 to 4,500 rpm. Despite being a hefty SUV, the Urus Performante accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (approximately 60mph) in just 3.3 seconds and attains a top speed of 306 km/h (roughly 190 mph).
For its integration into the Dubai Law Enforcement, the Lamborghini Urus Performante underwent tailored modifications to meet the specific operational requirements. Despite its remarkable factory-delivered capabilities, the Super SUV was enhanced to be suitable for police duties in Dubai.
During the event, General Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, the acting commander-in-chief of the Dubai Law Enforcement, conveyed gratitude for the collaboration with Lamborghini Dubai. “The high-performance Super SUV was introduced as part of the Dubai Law Enforcement’s initiative to increase the number of patrol units throughout Dubai. The new Lamborghini Urus Performante will aid the Dubai Law Enforcement in their endeavor to better serve residents, uphold social safety and security, and provide support in popular tourist spots.
