Bugatti’s chief test driver, Andy Wallace, is usually the one responsible for pushing the Bugatti Bolide to its limits during high-speed tests on the racetrack. However, a recent development granted Jack Rix, the Top Gear Magazine’s Editor-in-chief, the opportunity to personally experience the hypercar’s capabilities on the track at Nardo.
The Bugatti Bolide, an exclusive hypercar designed for the track, has a limited production of only 40 units, all of which were swiftly sold at a price of $5,000,000 each. Sporting the same mighty W16 quad-turbo 8-liter engine as the Chiron Super Sport, the Bolide boasts an impressive power output of 1,600 PS. Weighing in at just 1,450 kg, this powerhouse accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.2 seconds. Its incredible top speed is estimated to exceed 501 km/h (311 mph), capable of reaching this velocity in a remarkable 20.1 seconds!
Witness the remarkable performance of this hypercar in the video from Top Gear below, showcasing the sheer force of the massive W16 engine without any hybrid or electric support:
