Porsche has been seen testing a prototype for a second facelift of the Cayenne Coupe.

The latest spy images reveal the coupe-style Cayenne body showcasing a revised front fascia with active shutters, akin to the design adopted in the refreshed 911 lineup unveiled for the 2025 model year. More refined prototypes are likely to exhibit alterations at the rear as well.

While the specifics of other updates remain uncertain, Porsche generally enhances performance with its updates. In the U.S., the Cayenne Coupe is currently available in various configurations, including base, E-Hybrid, S, S E-Hybrid, Turbo E-Hybrid, and Turbo GT. The Turbo GT features a formidable 650-hp twin-turbo V-8, while the Turbo E-Hybrid incorporates electrification to , although this comes with an additional weight due to the electric components of the powertrain.

The coupe version of the Cayenne was first introduced for the 2020 model year and received an initial update along with the rest of the Cayenne range for the 2024 model year. This second update is anticipated to debut in 2026, targeting the 2027 model year in the U.S.

This timing aligns with Porsche’s plans to unveil an electric next-generation Cayenne. While the two SUVs will likely share some common features, they will operate on different platforms. The electric Cayenne will adopt the Volkswagen Group’s PPE dedicated EV architecture, already in use with Porsche’s electric Macan, while the refreshed Cayenne Coupe will maintain the current platform suited for gasoline and plug-in hybrid engines.

Porsche initially intended to phase out gasoline and plug-in hybrid versions of the Cayenne within this decade, but a slowdown in EV demand prompted the automaker to announce last summer that it would continue offering internal-combustion engine versions of the Cayenne well into the next decade, including V-8 engine options. This strategy will also apply to other models, such as the Panamera.
